Welcome to my blog & my store. My name is Mimi Fron and besides being a native Chicagoan, I am a certified tour guide & blogger who offers private, custom walking tours that cover Chicago’s art, architecture & history.
I was introduced to the world of tourism when I volunteered with the Chicago Architecture Center many years ago while I was a stressed-out Art Director. During a tough 8 week class, I learned so much about art, architecture & history from some of Chicago’s leading experts. In exchange for the education, you volunteer your time to lead walking tours in downtown Chicago. After volunteering for many years, I am now an independent contractor and I work with many different companies.
And now, with my store, you can book a tour with me directly. I offer many walking tour routes and I can also rent a new, insured car & show you the highlights by car. Another option, if you like, is to hire a car & driver so we can get out at certain sites to see them up close.

Description
I’ve had some very interesting requests for routes. For instance, a client’s daughter was running the Chicago marathon & wanted to cheer her on. We saw her daughter quite a few times along the route, which is possible via Chicago’s public transportation. A bit challenging to get the timing right, but we did it. It helped having run the marathon myself & cheering on multiple friends running it over the years. Very heartwarming & inspiring experience!

Perfect general overview of Chicago by car with “get out” stops at various meaningful locations. Great information about places to come back to, along with “foodie” recommendations we’ll definitely try. Mimi was especially helpful. It’s obvious she knows & loves her city.

We’ve taken walking tours in many major cities and Mimi is by far the best guide. A Chicago native, Mimi shared the back story of the places and people that built and shaped the city. Tiffany ceilings, artifacts from around the world, a farmer’s market, parks and Picassos were among the highlights. Mimi was personable and enthusiastic and gave us an insider’s tips on how to enjoy the rest of our trip.

Mimi was a wonderful tour guide & we were not disappointed with the 1/2 Day Chicago Highlights by Car tour. She was prompt, friendly, very knowledgeable, and her pride in her hometown was evident. As we were only spending 1 day in Chicago, this was the perfect way to get a feel for the culture & beauty of this wonderful city. She also offered advice on how to fill the rest of our day, which was extremely helpful. If we have the chance to return to Chicago, we will definitely book another tour with Mimi.

If at any time you are in need of the guide definitely put Mimi on your top list of guides to choose. She parted so much knowledge of Chicago. I had a 6 hour tour with Mimi…she is knowledgable and presents her information is a easy, fun way. We walked and toured by car. She showed me some hidden gems that she enjoyed. She is wonderful!
